Locations
Services may vary by location depending on clinical needs and referral pathways.
We offer multiple locations for support:
-
Clinic-based consultations are ideal for initial assessments, standardised developmental testing, and targeted therapy sessions.
This includes:
Assessments of motor development
postural and musculoskeletal assessment
sports injuries and rehabilitation
respiratory physiotherapy
Lumi kids is based in Hawthorn, with Moira also available in Surrey Hills at Melbourne Children’s Clinic, and Coburg at Good Physio for Children.
-
Home visits are often an ideal setting for infants and young children, particularly before they begin attending childcare, kindergarten or school.
Therapy within the home environment allows strategies to be incorporated into everyday routines and activities, helping children learn and practise skills where they feel most comfortable and secure.
The home environment can also play a powerful role in shaping a child’s movement choices, opportunities for motor learning, and overall developmental progression.
-
Sessions can take place in childcare centres, kindergartens and schools, supporting children within their usual learning environments.
This includes collaboration with educators and caregivers to:
optimise the child’s environment
support participation in daily activities
incorporate therapeutic strategies into individual and group programs
-
Hydrotherapy provides a supportive and motivating environment for movement.
The buoyancy of water can assist children who need support with posture and mobility, while water resistance can be used to build strength, coordination and endurance. Sessions are tailored to each child’s goals and abilities.
-
Playgrounds offer a natural and engaging setting to develop movement skills.
They provide opportunities to work on:
balance and coordination
climbing and motor planning
strength and endurance
confidence and participation in play
Using real-world environments like playgrounds helps children build skills that transfer directly into everyday life.
